Fume Cupboards for
Exceptionally Dense Vapours
"Heavier-than-air" vapours soon become "lighter" when mixed with air, but there are some experiments in which the high density makes it advantageous to have a fumecupboard in which the extract connection is at low level and not in the ceiling of the working chamber.
An example is the use of bromoform liquid for flotation separation in geology.
